Johnson and Johnson’s COVID Vaccine Production On Pause

Johnson and Johnson has put a temporary pause on vaccine production at the only plant making usable batches of the company’s COVID-19 vaccine. The plant in the Netherlands has been making an experimental vaccine for an unrelated virus. The new vaccine could be more profitable. The company has enough COVID vaccine in stock to fulfill orders. COVID vaccine production is expected to resume in the future. The J&J vaccine requires only one shot. It has been linked to rare blood clots. More from Reuters and The Hill.

Tylenol and Blood Pressure

Regular acetaminophen use increased systolic blood pressure by 5mm Hg in people with high blood pressure in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study. Researchers use a dose of 1 gram four times daily and checked 24-hour ambulatory blood pressures at the beginning and end of each two-week treatment period. The researchers say the increased blood pressure finding calls into question the safety of regular acetaminophen use. The study appears in the journal Circulation.
